Fountain Time & Spunky Dudley!

One thing that Jaxon has LOVED to do this summer is to play in the fountains. We have gone to the Streets of Indian Lake a couple of times to enjoy the summer weather and a little ice cream, of course. Jaxon has a blast, so I thought I would post a few pictures of him.

On a different topic, as many of you may know, we also have a Chihuahua named Dudley. Jonathan and I had Dudley long before we had Jaxon, so needless to say, he was very used to being an only-dog, or should I say an only-child. Dudley is not too fond of kids, but we were hoping that he would bond with Jaxon. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the case. They have a love/hate relationship. Jaxon loves Dudley, and Dudley hates Jaxon! Although Jaxon would love to have a dog to play with, Dudley certainly isn't a good playmate for him. Notice how we don't have many pictures with Jaxon and Dudley together...that wouldn't be a good situation, or a pretty picture!

Dudley has been with me for so long and has been such a part of my life. When he was a puppy, he was 1/4 pound and we weren't even sure that he would make it, but he did (now he fluctuates between 8-10 pounds)! He went everywhere with me in my T-shirt pocket, and people actually thought he was a mouse or small kitten. After high school, he also went to college with me. Then, when me and Jonathan got married, it became the three of us! He is now 15 years old, and quite grumpy. In his old age, he has also encountered some health problems. He has a heart murmur, is in heart failure, renal failure, and has arthritis. He takes four (sometimes five) pills a day and has recent check-ups at the vet. Although much of the time he just relaxes around the house, either curled up on a blanket or on the bed, he sometimes gets a little spunky and runs around the house or tosses his chew-stick around for a while. It's so nice to see him play a little bit in his old age. Here are a few pictures of him tossing around his chew-stick during one of his more spunky times.

He's done...

Time to rest again.

This is an ultrasound picture taken in December. You can see it is a headshot. He is holding his hands up by his face and is even grinning for the camera!

Dudley wore this T-shirt to reveal the exciting news that he was going to have a new sibling. His shirt said "Have you heard the big news? I'm going to be a big brother!!"
